Russian photographer Sergey Larenkov is a master of a technique called, alternatively, perspective-matching photography or the fancier computational rephotography, which consists of precisely matching the points-of-view of vintage and modern photographs and exploring what happens where they merge. Combining old imagery with new may not be a revolutionary concept but Sergey has found a way of using the idea to great effect. Taking old World War II photos, he carefully photoshops them over up-to-date pictures of well known areas in cities such as Moscow, Berlin, Prague and Viennna to make the past come alive.
