Born Like An Artist

This strip by the

Autor says: “This was very fun to do. I’m surprised that it came out so serious and ‘deep’ though x3. I usually choose a humorous approach to things, but in this case, where most of the other entries were humorous, I chose to do something serious for once.

I wanted to do something different too. And since there were so many comics about the quirks of an artist, I wanted to do one that described the ‘evolution of an artist’. I find it interesting how some people have always known that they wanted to be an artist (me for example x3) I wonder why this is. Why do some children become interested in art, while others don’t?
I also find it intersting how you keep maturing as an artist as you get older. I don’t know if you ever truly ‘bloom’ though, like in the comic. You keep evolving as long as you live. But i do believe there’s a point in every artists life, where you figure out what you want to do, or get another kind of artistic revelation.

I hope you like this! Since it was so long, I had to spend less time on the art, and more time on actually getting it finished. I tried to let the style change bit as the main characters gets older though. It’s more sketchy when she’s young, and gets more mature as she gets older.”
